NJDCA – Hurricane Sandy Program
Helping New Jersey residents build stronger homes after Superstorm Sandy.

The NJDCA implemented a robust portfolio of recovery programs in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy to help low- to moderate-income homeowners and renters rebuild stronger, safer homes. These efforts were supported by HUD’s CDBG-DR funding and FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP).

Through the MHU LMI Program, eligible residents living in damaged manufactured homes received safe, code-compliant replacements. The RREM Program delivered full home repairs, elevations, and reconstructions to restore housing stock while mitigating future storm impacts. The Landlord Rental Repair Program (LRRP) helped preserve affordable rental units by funding repairs for small landlords. Simultaneously, the HMGP provided critical upgrades—like floodproofing and wind resistance—to reduce vulnerability to future disasters.
Ducky Recovery was proud to contribute to these efforts, supporting everything from structural repairs and home elevations to full modular and mobile home replacements. Our work ensured families across New Jersey could return to safe, resilient homes and communities.
