Administered by the NC Division of Emergency Management (NCEM), the program funded critical home repairs—such as electrical, plumbing, structural patchwork, and basic kitchen and bathroom functionality—to allow families to shelter in place while awaiting full rehabilitation.
Ducky Recovery was selected as a trusted contractor to serve storm-impacted households across eastern North Carolina. We deployed emergency response crews, established rapid repair logistics, and coordinated closely with inspectors and case managers to expedite habitable occupancy.
The STEP Program played a vital role in reducing prolonged displacement, and Ducky Recovery’s fieldwork helped accelerate the state’s recovery timeline while prioritizing safety, quality, and compassion for the communities we served.
