Housing Repair & Replacement Program Restoring Homes and Hope in Florida’s Panhandle

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in 2018, the Florida Department of Commerce (formerly DEO) launched the Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program to help the state’s most vulnerable residents recover. Funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the CDBG-DR program, this initiative focused on assisting low- to moderate-income families, seniors, and individuals with special needs across the hardest-hit areas of the Florida Panhandle.

Our teams provided comprehensive reconstruction of destroyed homes, ensuring each property met or exceeded Florida Building Code and wind zone requirements. We also performed essential structural repairs, including roofing, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC system upgrades, as well as accessibility improvements tailored to each household’s needs. For qualifying applicants, we replaced mobile and modular homes and elevated structures in compliance with floodplain regulations, integrating ADA-accessible stairs, ramps, and entries where needed.
