Housing Repair & Replacement Program Helping Florida Families Rebuild After the Storm

After Hurricane Irma devastated Florida in 2017, the Florida Department of Commerce (formerly the Department of Economic Opportunity) launched the Rebuild Florida Housing Repair and Replacement Program to assist low- to moderate-income families in rebuilding their homes and lives.

Ducky Recovery was selected as a trusted contractor to deliver safe, code-compliant housing solutions across some of the state’s hardest-hit regions—including communities in the Keys, Southwest Florida, and Central Florida. Our work under this program included full home reconstruction, critical repairs to structural and life-safety systems, mobile and modular home replacements, and accessibility enhancements for elderly and disabled residents. We coordinated closely with program administrators, environmental consultants, and local permitting agencies to ensure every project met HUD, FEMA, and Florida Building Code standards.

From initial damage assessment through final walkthrough, Ducky Recovery managed each step with care, transparency, and urgency. We are proud to have helped hundreds of Floridians return to safe, resilient homes—and we remain deeply committed to supporting Florida’s long-term recovery.
